FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether my products need a passport?

If you manufacture, import or sell physical products in the EU, the ESPR regulation (EU) 2024/1781 will require a Digital Product Passport for more and more product groups from 2027 onwards. The checker at the top of this page gives you an instant estimate in three questions — free and without an account.

When exactly do the deadlines apply?

Each product group gets its own delegated act with its own date. Textiles and iron/steel are expected first (2027), furniture, mattresses and tyres around 2028, aluminium 2029 and electronics 2028–2030. The dates become binding when each act is adopted — we track every draft and alert you as soon as anything changes.

Where does the passport data come from?

From you — it's the product data you already have, for example a CSV export from your shop system or ERP. The template for your product group tells you exactly which fields are mandatory, and a completeness score shows the gaps. You remain the owner of your data at all times.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel at any time. Your complete data (JSON + documents) remains exportable for 90 days after the end of your subscription, and published passports stay online for the same 90 days — your compliance never breaks overnight.

What happens when new legal acts arrive?

When a delegated act is adopted or updated, we publish a new template version and show you exactly which fields were added or changed. You get an email alert and update your products in the app — no migration project, no agency.

Is this legal advice?

No. CyfroPass provides software tools, not legal advice. Responsibility for the content of a passport remains with the economic operator. For a binding assessment of your obligations, please consult qualified legal counsel.
